Oh Happy Spring,
Yesterday's rehearsal was a mixed bag with some good and some not so good stuff that happened. Some of the good stuff was that you showed up - some of the bad stuff was that not everyone showed up- Attendance is vital NOW and you can't miss the next two rehearsals without a note or call from your parent. Another good thing was the singing - ensemble got to go with Mrs. Wheeler for extra help and the leads are doing a great job- another not so good thing here was that the leads showed up late when it was their time to go on. You must be attentive to when you go on at all times. Lights and sounds effects are coming alone fine, but make sure if you are in a spot light, you do not speak if you are not in the light!
Be confident when you are on stage. Straight posture gives you Stage Presence and strong voice.
Keep on going even if you do make a mistake- no one will know if you don't draw attention to yourself by looking and laughing at your friend, just continue on. If something does drop - continue on -
Look up and out at the audience or clock if necessary. Your feet will follow, so don't worry about that! Believe in yourself and the audience will also. Use your whole face and mouth to show some animation. Enjoy the payoff for all your effort in practicing every performance.
More things that need to be addressed before next week:
Your Behavior must be your best at all times You must be trustworthy so everyone can have some fun with this show.
1. You must be very responsible when you are backstage- EVERY word and sound is heard in the audience. You have the power to make this performance great, so do so.
2. Props are being touched while backstage- NO NO NO - they are fragile and must not be touched- including sitting in the thrones and birdcage and shaking the pom poms.
3. Stay away from the curtains- touching them ripples the entire curtain
4. Be careful of your surroundings and don't touch anything that is not yours.
5. When in Mrs Wheeler's room, Sit or Stand and use whisper voices. Her equipment is not yours to touch or use.
6. Stay in Mrs Wheeler's room until crew member comes in for you.
7. Listen to the adult in the room with you at all times.
8. You are responsible for your costume. Hang it up every time you are done with a rehearsal or performance.
